Miles Storey scored the only goal of the game at Edgar Street this afternoon and in doing so gave Hereford their first home league win of the season to date.
"We deserved it," said Storey.
"It feels like it's been coming a long time.
"I'm just pleased for everyone.
"Today we were solid, hard to beat.
"In all fairness for the first half and second half put together it could have three or four.
"We need to build on it now, not go backwards, we took a massive step today.
"You could see what it meant to the fans, they've stuck with us all season, so it's pleasing to give the fans that.
"It's pleasing for everyone in the dressing room, buzzing for the gaffer, but it's just the first step.
"The thing that I've noticed since I've been here, ten or eleven games, if you make forward runs regardless of whom you are playing against you are going to half have a chance of getting in.
"That's what I try to do up there.
"I still need to work on my hold-up play I think but I always try to make an option for the team and it just means that better footballers than me can get on the ball.
"They (the fans) deserve it and they've stuck with us the whole season. There have been games when we've been chasing and they've stayed here until the last minute and clapped us off.
"I think it's good we've given them to go home with.
"Their manager, as we were walking off, said start a run now, you are nowhere near where you should me.
"And I think before this we've played three teams on the trot and the managers always seem to come up to us and say you are not where you need to be."
Krystian Pearce played his first full game for the Bulls this afternoon.
"I think he was so solid. He uses his brain well. He sniffs out danger. When he clears the ball he clears the ball.
"We had Haines sitting in front and Ben has been brilliant again today and we've got quality on the bench."
