They Are Always Hard Games Against Westfields Said Gowling

Although Hereford won last night's HFA County Cup tie 2-1,  manager Josh Gowling said he felt games against Westfields were always hard.

"No disrespect to Westfields but I think they are always hard games," said Gowling.

"I think when you are used to playing at our level and you play here, sometimes they are difficult games to play but they (our players) needed minutes and that's what it was for.

"Levi played Saturday but we wanted to have a look at him as right back, Par, Victor, Yan is back which is good to see. Patrick needed a few minutes as well and the keeper (Nykah).

"It was good to get them some real match practice with intensity and a team that wanted to beat us.

"We got a lot from it."

The opening goal was an own goal from former Hereford player Jamie Bird.

"It was a great finish.

"I went in at the end and I said who scored that lads?

"Par said it was me.

"I think he just got his body language wrong, his body position wrong.

"It was a good cross and I think he's just tried to head it over and headed in the top corner.

"I'm not going to complain!"

Hereford's second goal was scored by Victor Sodeinde.

"I was shouting to him to pass it!

"I was screaming at him but he put it in the back of the net so I shut up pretty quick.

"He's got that quality, he's got that pace and we want to see him more."
