McNally Seemed Like A Perfect Fit Said Gowling

Given he had only meet the rest of the squad two hours before kick-off Hereford's latest signing Reiss McNally, centre of picture, fitted in very well at York last Tuesday. He partnered Levi Andoh in the centre of defence.

Afterwards Gowling spoke about his new recruit.

"He's been at Guiseley, he was at Brackley for a period last year, he played a bit for Solihull Moors at the back end of last year as well.

"So he can play right back or centre half.

"He's athletic, he's quick, he's strong, he's good in the air so when I knew he was available thanks to Foxy a little bit and a few friends at Solihull, I had a chat with them, he seemed like a perfect fit for us.

"So we had lost out on a couple of centre halves as we have done all year, centre halves seem to be the area this year! (BN note - it's thought Jordan Dyer might have been one of those players. He has just joined Yeovil on loan from Exeter)

"For his debut away at York, not trained with us, not knowing how we play, to put in a performance like that is absolutely outstanding."

Gowling confirmed that McNally had not played in the FA Cup to date.

Brandon Hall also spoke about McNally in his post York interview.

"Reiss has come in, what a time to come in, and put in a shift," said Hall.

"I thought he was excellent tonight, really, really good.

"We met him on the coach about two hours ago!"
