A look back to pre-season 2015/16, Hereford's first as a reformed club. Lots of work to get Edgar Street ready for a friendly against FC United.
One Week To The First Home Friendly
The Green Green Grass Of Edgar Street |
Hereford FC hold their first ever
home friendly next Saturday against FC United of Manchester and
everyone involved with the club can't wait for the teams to run out onto
the green turf of Edgar Street just befor 3pm.
"It will be fantastic just to get
back into this stadium after all that's gone on and enjoy a game of
football with the boys in white shirts running around kicking a ball,"
spokesman Chris Ammonds told BN.
"There's still a lot of work to be done, carpets to be laid in the hospitality rooms.
"The little details to bring things up to where we want them.
"Once that's sorted hopefully by close of play Wednesday then after that there will be a deep-cleaning job to be done.
"A company are coming in to do that for us.
"I'm advised it's a 'builders clean' which will include all the dust, masonary and stuff.
"That will make a huge difference.
"But there are still lots of jobs
that volunteers can help with so if anyone has a few hours to spare
anytime before the FCUM game, please drop Ken (Kinnersley) a line or
ring the club.
"I believe there are people
coming in tomorrow (Sunday). Ken is in tomorrow and I know there's still
some paint here. And there's still some clearing up to do."
BN: With a gate expected to be well above 3,000 are you fully prepared for next Saturday?
"Yes, we hope so.
"We wanted to sell tickets in advance and make it all-ticket to get a sense of how many people we might have to deal with.
"The goodwill was clearly there,
there was a lot of interest that was obvious, but the last thing you
wanted is to not be prepared for the amount of people arriving.
"At least now we've got a real
sense of the interest with 2787 tickets sold and that's without
including those available for FCUM.
"They can buy their tickets here on the day and they are having half the Len Weston Stand."
BN: How late can Hereford FC supporters buying tickets?
"Right up to Friday 4pm as it stands.
"The last day the office will be open is Wednesday but people can buy tickets over the phone any day after 10am.
"They can collect them before or on the day."
