Chester chairman Andrew Morris has said that whatever happens to the resolutions put forward by the National League we won't put our future at risk.
Chester have a board meeting tomorrow (Thursday) evening to discuss the resolutions.
"We are doing our financial modelling and, as ever, we will be prudent in what we do," Morris told CheshireLive.
"We have said from Day One we are not going to gamble with the future of this club just to complete the season.
"That said, we are a football club and we are here to play football. However, we won’t put our future at risk to do that."
Morris said he had spoken to many National North and South clubs on Tuesday evening.
"It is a really interesting debate in terms of different positions with different clubs and I don’t think it will be a clear-cut decision either way. I think there are a lot of twists and turns within this.
“There are a significant number of clubs that do wish to continue, either because their model doesn’t rely on fans through the gate or they have been prudent in their financial modelling so far in the season and have enough cash reserves to keep going, or they are propped up by an external body that pays them sponsorship.
“That was one of the points one of the clubs made. They have a six-figure sponsorship deal that is dependent on them continuing to play, and that is over and above the costs they will incur."
