Robbie Savage part of new-look Macclesfield

Former Premier League and Welsh international footballer, Robbie Savage is to become the new Head of Football of Macclesfield FC who will relaunch under the new name after Macclesfield Town were wound up.

Local businessman Robert Smethurst has acquired the assets of the rebuilt club who will look to start life in the North West Counties League next season.

Macclesfield Town were also expelled from the National League, with staff and players made redundant.
