Macclesfield wound up in High Court

Macclesfield Town have been wound up in the High Court over debts totalling more than £500,000.

The BBC report that £190,000 was owed in tax, while a solicitor of former manager John Askey and a financial lender were both owed £173,000.

Owner Amar Alkadhi had asked for a further eight-week adjournment.

Jason Cowley, who had been on trial at Hereford, had joined Macclesfield this week.
