There's Always Pressure On The Manager Said Slade

Supporters In The Meadow End This Afternoon
Hereford FC lost again this afternoon so during his post match interview manager Russell Slade was asked if he was feeling a bit of pressure.

"There is always pressure on a manager," said Slade.

"From the day he steps into the job you want to win football matches that's what it is about.

"We're not winning enough of those at the minute, that's clear for everybody to see.

"I respect everybody's frustration at that, I'm doing my best to ensure we try and turn this around which we will, and which we are capable of doing. We saw signs of that today. The important thing is not to lose focus or confidence in what we are trying to do as we move forward."

After the defeat at Kidderminster, Slade made four changes to the starting eleven.

"I had three center-halves out today. Josh Gowling was ill, Riley has popped his shoulder, and Jac (Bodenham) has a very swollen ankle which he picked up in the first ten minutes of the game two days ago.

"So Jason Pope had his opportunity to play center-half with Jordan today.

"Mike Symons is available but I went with the two young strikers today."

Given the long winless run what is Slade's message to supporters.

"Just to try and stay with it at the minute.

"It will turn, everything turns in the end if we all remain positive and get that win. Then, hopefully, we can go on a run when we don't lose for a couple of months.

"Did I think Kidderminster deserved their win two days ago, yes I did and no excuses.

"Today I thought we were a little bit unfortunate, I thought we deserved to get more than what we got out of the game today which was clearly nothing.

"I don't think the opposition have to work as hard as we do to get a goal. I think we shoot ourselves in the foot and it's that switching off for a split second.

"I think the first clearance for the corner we could have knocked it out for a throw rather than a corner.

"The header by Danny goes out for a corner, I think we could have headed out for a throw.

"Those little things can make a difference and then we are not defending a third corner in several seconds.

"Sometimes a little bit of experience matters but even when we've had some of the most experienced ones playing we've sometimes shot ourselves in the foot.

"And it's those errors that we need to eradicate."
