Speaking to the media after yesterday's game at Bradford Park Avenue, Hereford's Tommy O'Sullivan expressed disappointment with the defeat which came just four days after the Bulls were dumped out of the FA Cup.
"We expected to come here and put in a performance really and come away with a point if not three, something to go home and be proud of. We didn't do that today.
"I think second half we came out, we needed a reaction, we needed to score the next goal which we didn’t do.
"The space was there in midfield, I did get on the ball a lot, it allowed us to get further up into the final third but we didn’t create enough or weren’t clinical enough in that box or around the box to get that goal."
Is it something that confidence will bring?
"I'm not sure it's confidence.
"Before today we didn’t concede a goal in four games so I think we just need to be a little bit more clever in our decisions at times, manage a game when we’re ahead, score when we’re on top, that’s one thing even in mid-week we were on top and we didn’t get that goal, sometimes it can go the other way against you then."
What about manager Russell Slade?
"He’s come in and made an impression on everyone, the squad is big, everyone is biting at each other’s heels, everyone wants to play you earn your shirt. It’s just disappointing we lost today really.
"We changed formation at times. It depends how we play, we do have width on the pitch. Today we've put plenty of crosses into the box, it was just the quality in the final third really which is the difference between scoring and not scoring. I think that was just the difference today.
"It's a tough league, it will chew you up, you do have to step and if given the opportunity you have to take it."
The next game could be two weeks away.
"We'll have to turn it around now, we'll be back in training in the week. We'll have back with another performance now and get more points on the board."
O'Sullivan was asked about his goal.
"It was on the left hand side and it just came across the box and I could just see it. I think Symo had a flick or a defender had a flick and I’ve seen some space back post.
"The defender jumped but he wasn’t quite getting it and it just feel quite nicely. I just thought Ive got to hit it.
"I did want to enjoy it, but I thought we were going to go on and get another goal so had to get back. we needed another goal."
Hereford seemed tired today?
"I don't think we were tired. We had done everything right, we did our recovery mid-week. Everyone was ready to come here and put a performance in today.
"We didn't start right like we should have. We went 2-0 down so it’s something we’ve got to look at and put right as we can’t start like that again otherwise we’re not doing what we should be."
O'Sullivan knows Slade from his time at Cardiff.
"Always nice to see people you are familiar with in football, nice to have him here now. But we all need to pull together now.
"Over the summer there has been a lot of new players in, some have stayed, you have to prove yourself all the time and you can’t just expect anything from anyone. You have got to keep working, keep working."
