Martin Baker, who helped run Ciderspace, has died.
Ciderspace, an independent site devoted to Yeovil, started in 1999.
Yeovil FC have issued the following statement:
Everybody at Yeovil Town FC is deeply saddened to hear this evening's news that Martin Baker has passed away.
Martin's work via the Ciderspace website and other projects has done so much over many years to promote and help the club.
Everyone at Huish Park including all of the playing and management staff want to send their sincerest condolences to Martin Baker's family and friends, he will be sadly missed.
Darren Sarll added; “It’s individuals like Martin that make and made Yeovil the wonderful, family environment it is. I’ll miss his updates and his contribution and loyalty to Yeovil Town FC.
“It is our duty to make sure that Yeovil strives for further successes and allows him to watch from above, and be proud of our future achievements.
“This club is a family and we support each other through the good and the bad. We open our arms to his family and friends at such a sad time and please know they are always welcome at Huish Park.”
Interestingly it was the launch of Ciderspace that persuaded Yeovil to set up an offical site in 2000. Two of the supporters behind Ciderspace, one of who was Martin Baker, helped update the new site.
