Russell Slade's latest signing Irishman Stephen Dawson has had fitness problems recently and only made seven appearances in all competitions for Bury last season.
Now 33, Dawson returned to Gigg Lane in 2017 and not long afterwards suffered a serious knee injury.
He last played for Bury on Boxing Day.
Dawson however hasn't been out of the news. According to the Bury Times he recently had 'a confrontation with Shakers owner Steve Dale live on talkSPORT as the club's crisis deepened'.
