FA Cup Starts Tomorrow For Hereford

Hereford FC enter this season's FA Cup tomorrow with a home game against Truro City at Edgar Street. Kick-off is at 3pm.

Manager Russell Slade has said he would like a run in the Cup and has warned his players to be ready for the game.

"I like the Cup, I'd like a little run in the Cup so if they think they are switching off on Saturday they are mistaken," he said after Tuesday's victory over Gateshead.

Who will he choose to play?

"I will look at the situation in terms of how the squad is and injuries."

It's thought unlikely that captain Jared Hodgkiss will play any part after coming off on Tuesday with what appeared to be a groin strain. Jason Pope is also a doubt and Danny Greenslade, pictured in last year's tie, remains sidelined.

However, as reported earlier, Peter Vincenti has been signed on loan. It's understood he trained with the squad last night.

"The basics are that we want to go into that game with a winning team.

"But we'll have to look at the whole group and see how we are.

"It does open it up a little more, maybe to one or two others.

"But I want to put out a side that's capable of winning a football match."

Meanwhile Jordan Nicholson, Man of the Match last Tuesday, is hoping to be in the starting eleven.

"Hopefully with this group of lads we'll pull something off," he said.

Truro are in a lower league than Hereford.

"You can't take anything like that, it's all down to the day.

"We must make sure we prep right and do the business on the pitch."

Last year on the same Saturday Truro were the opponents in the Cup at Edgar Street. Watched by 1441, the game was a 0-0 draw. However Hereford won the replay 4-3.

Tickets for the game are available online and from the ticket office from 12.30pm tomorrow.

BBC Hereford and Worcester will have full match commentary of the game. Keith Hall will be joined by Danny Greenslade.

Radio Hereford FC will also have commentary on the game.

Should Hereford win or draw they will be in the draw for the next round, the Third Qualifying, which is on Talksport2 around 1.30pm on Monday.
