Eliot Richards scored for Hereford on the opening day of last season |
Eliot Richards
says he is disappointed to leave Hereford after recovering from an ankle injury,
adding that ‘he knew he would have done a job for the team this season’.
Speaking to
Bulls News, the 27-year-old said he was really looking forward to having a good
season at Edgar Street, but was told that players had to leave before the club
could offer him anything.
Richards was a popular
player among supporters, with some believing he was Hereford’s best player last
season.
However, he
required an arthroscopy operation on his ankle during the summer. As a result, the Bulls management team said they would make a decision on him once he regained full
fitness. Richards says he has been doing his rehabilitation at Hereford for the
past four weeks and has just begun full training.
After receiving
the news that there is currently no money available to keep him, Richards says
that he has had some discussions with other clubs but has not decided where to
go yet.
“I loved my
time at the club especially winning the league under [Pete] Beadle,” said
Richards.
“I’m not sure
how they’ll do this season because the league is really competitive, but I wish
the boys all the best.”
