The player took too much time on the ball and Ethan Moore pounced for the home team. Yet again, Hereford fielded some trialists, with one believed to be ex-Solihull and Rushall Olympic midfielder Simeon May.
Hereford had the better of the opening exchanges, with Rowan Liburd blazing over the bar in the sixth minute before he was denied by a last-ditch tackle just minutes later.
Then in the ninth minute, Reece Styche saw a free kick go just over.
Another Liburd chance went begging before Cinderford had chances to score.
First, Moore headed over in the 17th minute, while Craig Norman shot wide from distance. Then in the 37th minute, Hereford keeper Brandon Hall saved from Marley Thomas.
Hereford had a shout for a penalty two minutes after the break following an apparent trip on Keyon Reffell, but the referee waved play on.
Tommy O'Sullivan then had a couple of chances as the Bulls tried to get back into the game, while Martin Riley headed wide from a corner.
But it was Cinderford who took the lead in the 65th minute from Moore. A couple of minutes later, Jacob Jagger Cane shot just over for Hereford, while Liam Bishop had an effort on goal.
Nevertheless, Cinderford had a chance to make it 2-0 eight minutes from time. However, Craig Norman shot over when well placed. Then Brandon Hill tipped an Andy Lewis corner over his own bar.
Overall, Hereford fans will be disappointed with the result, especially as Cinderford ply their trade two leagues below the Bulls.
But it is still very early in pre-season and Hereford will be looking to bounce straight back when they take on Yeovil Town and Bideford in a double-header taking place in Devon this weekend.
