Fixtures are out Wednesday - All you need to know

Fans will finally be able to plan for the forthcoming season when the National League North fixtures are released at 1pm on Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know about the new season...

When does it start?

The 2019/20 season will kick off on Saturday, August 3

When will it finish?

Saturday, April 25

What about midweek games?

It is expected that there will be two scheduled Tuesday games in August (6th and 13th), as well as one in the October half term (29th)

When are the Bank Holiday games?

There will be a game on the August Bank Holiday (27th), as well as Boxing Day (December 26), New Year's Day (January 1) and Easter Monday (April 13). Potentially, there may also be a match on Good Friday (April 10). If not, Hereford will play on Easter Saturday (April 11).

When will Hereford play the local teams?

Last season, the Bulls faced Kidderminster over the festive period, but because Gloucester have been moved to the North, there is a high chance that they may face Marc Richards' former club on Boxing Day and New Year's Day. That means that Hereford could clash with Kiddie on August Bank Holiday or over the Easter weekend. The Bulls were due to go to Chester on the August Bank Holiday last season, but stadium problems caused the game to be postponed. The Telford games were played in the October half term and Easter Saturday respectively, with Hereford having to make a five-hour round trip to face Altrincham on Easter Monday.

What other away games stand out?

Depends how far you want to travel. However, with four teams now in and around the Newcastle area now Gateshead have been placed in the league, you would hope that Hereford would face at least one of them when the weather is relatively reasonable. Otherwise, a seaside trip to Southport could be appealing (as long as it's not in the winter); likewise York (especially if they finally move away from Bootham Crescent).

What about the new teams?

Hereford will reacquaint themselves with King's Lynn and Kettering, while Farsley Celtic (which is based near Leeds) were also promoted. And of course there's Gloucester.
