Who will be in National League North next season?

So, another season has come and gone and attention will now turn to the next campaign.

Hereford will once again be placed in National League North and will be looking for a much higher finish than 17th.

But who will join them is still unclear.

Nuneaton, FC United of Manchester and Ashton United were the three relegated sides, while Farsley Celtic and Kettering Town were the Northern Premier League and Southern League Central winners respectively.

King's Lynn beat Warrington in a 'Super Play-off' so will also be in NLN, while going the other way and claiming promotion to the National League were Stockport and Chorley.

However, none of the teams relegated from the National League - Aldershot, Havant & Waterlooville, Braintree and Maidstone - are northern based, so will all go in National League South.

That leaves the two spots available for NLN, with the consensus being that either Gloucester or Oxford City will be laterally moved from National League South.

However, the uncertainty surrounding Gateshead's position in the National League could hand Aldershot a reprieve should the Tyneside club be placed in NLN. That means only club could be moved across from NLS.

It is understood that the FA's League's Committee are to meet this week, even as early as tomorrow, and announce the initial league placings for Steps 1 to 4.

The National League will then consider them at its AGM in June.

BN will announce the initial NLN allocation for the 2019/20 season as soon as we can.
