Bulls Aren't Safe Yet After Tough Game Against Brackley

Some of the pressure might be off the Hereford players at the minute with 11 points separating them from the drop zone, but they're under no illusion that they're not safe yet.

For Hereford to be dragged into a relegation dog-fight, Ashton United or FC United of Manchester would need to win four of their last six games and for the Bulls not to pick up any points.

Centre-back Jordan Cullinane-Liburd said after last night's 2-0 loss at home to Brackley Town that if the side keep on performing, they should pick up points to ensure their survival.

When asked if the 11 point gap had taken some of the pressure off, Cullinane-Liburd said: "Yes definitely, but that doesn't mean we're safe yet.

"We need to keep on pushing, we're not safe until the last game of the season and we can definitely say we're not going down.

"We need to get every point we can, but as long as we keep on performing I don't see why we can't get more points."

As for the game itself, Brackley kept Hereford's forwards very quiet throughout the game while quickly trying to catch Hereford on the break.

Cullinane-Liburd added: "It was a very tough game, they were very well-drilled, they are where they are for a reason.

"They were well-organised and stopped us from playing, getting in between lines. They made us think a lot when we were playing, didn't give us many options.

"It was a very tough game to play in, you can see why there are where they are. It was hard to play against and they broke on us very quickly counterattacking.

"One minute they've got one player and the next you're defending against four."

Jordan Cullinane-Liburd picked up the captain's armband in the second half as Josh Gowling was forced off after straining his hamstring. Louis Ezewele came on in his place and Cullinane-Liburd felt he did a good job in the heart of defence.

Also in the second half, Brackley's lead was doubled as Jak Hickman turned Ellis Myles' cross from the right into the back of his own net.

"They had a lot of lucky chances, there's time where you'd tackle them and the ball would ricochet off and end up at one of their feet rather than yourselves.

"It was unfortunate but first half we kept them out and second half we were unlucky with the own goal to be honest.

"I don't think they caused us too many problems other than the break they had after half time."

"Louis (Ezewele) has come in on his debut, it's been his first game for a while and he's done a good job. He's only got more time to build into the game so I'm sure he'll be back to his usual soon."
