Richards Feels For Waite After Straight Red Card

Head Coach Marc Richards said the outcome of this afternoon's game might have been different had Hereford finished the game with 11 men.

Recent addition James Waite was shown a straight red car 15 minutes into the second half after he caught Joe Clarke in the face with his arm, with the Bulls going on to concede a second to draw 2-2 with Leamington.

Richards said after the game the challenge wasn't meant with any 'intent or malice at all' and he feels for the Cardiff City loanee.

"I really feel for him to be fair, he's in there now, we've looked at it back and you can see why he's given a red," said Richards.

"It's not meant with any intent or malice at all, he's just jumped with his arms in the air and he's caught the lad in the face.

"He was being really effective, popped up with another goal and was looking a threat for the time he was on the pitch. Just frustrating because had we had 11 on the pitch for the full 90 (minutes) we would've hopefully held onto that 2-1 or nicked another."

Josh Gowling captained the Bulls this afternoon and he echoed Richards' thoughts. He said it was accidental and the 19-year-old is disappointed.

"He's an honest lad, I think he's just gone to hold off the defender and flick it on the turn and he's caught him," Gowling said after the game.

"He didn't mean it, it was accidental, for me it's a yellow card. He's not a malicious lad, he's a good lad and he's been fantastic since he's come in.

"He's disappointed in there but he hasn't let anyone down."
