“I think it’s an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down. As a youngster my father and uncle used to take me to Edgar Street many years ago, and I had some great times there as a young kid growing up," said Harris as reported by Talking Bull.
“I just think it’s a fantastic football club and to be invited to help the club progress back up the leagues is a great opportunity for me.
“We’ve had loads and loads of applications and some very high-profile names. It’s important that we speak to them and look to the right appointment to get things right on the field, and to ensure we press onwards and upwards.
“Someone who has got experience at this level as a minimum. Someone that knows how to develop players, and someone who is a knowledgeable coach, someone who has all the ingredients to improve players as well as get results on the pitch.
“You’ve only got to look at some of the teams in the National League North like Stockport County, York City and Darlington to realise there are some big, big sides in there. Many have Football League history behind them like Hereford, and so we’ve got to put the right structure in place to make progress”.
