There will be a caretaker manager in place for the game on Saturday and an announcement could be made by the end of today.
The players will be told what's happening for Saturday's game against Ashton United when they report to training as normal this evening.
Hereford FC's James Watts says qualified coaches will lead the session, but he couldn't confirm who they are.
“There will be someone to take training who’s full qualified, that’s in process. Training will take place as normal but obviously there won’t be Steve or Peter there, but there will be qualified coaches there," Watts said.
"We will have an announcement on the management team for the game on Saturday.
"We’re hoping for it to happen today. There’s been a process of announcements, but we won’t announce things that we can’t guarantee. Once everything is finalised everyone will be told at the right time and we’ll go from there.
Watts went onto say that whoever the next manager is, they'll need to tick a lot of boxes to fit in with the club's plan going forward.
"There’s going to be a lot of candidates and we’re not going to rush into anything," he added.
“We know what we need and whoever it is will need to tick a lot of boxes for the business strategy the club has got going forward.
“The board have guaranteed there will be fully qualified coaches, there will have a remit. the players will be told what’s happening for Saturday. That will happen in the next few hours.”
