Quentin joined Hereford United from Wolves in the Summer of 1996. He was deemed to be the next big thing. Graham Turner was so confident of this he released the reliable Stuart Watkiss with Townsend taking his place. After a reasonable start to his Hereford career, things went wrong, and after September 1996 he never played again for The Bulls.
