Greenslade Is Beadle's Latest Signing

22-year-old Danny Greenslade has signed for Hereford from Weston-Super-Mare for an undisclosed fee.

He has previously been described as 'one of the best left-backs in non league football' on the official Seagulls website.

Hereford had a bid accepted for Greenslade last October, but the defender turned down the move as he wasn't prepared to drop down a level to the Southern League.

The former Bristol Rovers youngster was a regular in the National League South last season with Weston.

Beadle told the official Hereford website: "We had an offer accepted for Danny last season," but because we were in the Southern League, he just didn't want to drop down. His ambitions are to return to full-time football, and I think he felt that moving to the level we were at last season was perhaps too big a risk for him.

The left-sided defender turned down a new deal at the Seagulls this summer, but because he was under contract last season and under twenty-four, the move requires compensations.

The fee will remain undisclosed, but Beadle says it's good that the board ensured he had the money to bring him in.

"It is great that the board have made the funds available for us to bring Danny in, he is a player who has got a lot of quality about him, he'll get up and down the pitch and has a lovely left-foot on him, he has a great character and we’re excited to be working with him."
