Green Is A Class Act Said Beadle

Captain Ryan Green
Pete Beadle rung the changes for last night's game at Hitchin, making five to the side that beat Kettering 4-1 on the weekend.

Beadle said it's been a case of players doing so well it would be hard to replace them.

Beadle to BBC H&W's Keith Hall: "I just wanted to give them a game, James [Bowen] has been here a little while now and picked up a couple of knocks and injuries, but obviously with Cameron's [Pring] form it's been tough to get him in.

"The same with Macca [Mike McGrath] getting him back involved, getting Billy [Murphy] back involved he's been out for a few weeks with a little bit of illness and injury. Obviously Eliot [Richards] has been doing extremely well so difficult to get him in.

"Ryan [Green] has been suspended, but we felt we needed his leadership qualities out there tonight so we brought him straight back in."

The experienced Ryan Green donned the captain's armband last night in the absence of both Jimmy Oates and Jack Deaman. Beadle said it was just a case of the captain and vice-captain not playing.

"Jack, our vice-captain and Jimmy, who's our captain, didn't play so you give to your most influential player if you like, or the one the players look to, and it's that man obviously.

"He's had a fantastic season, probably surpassed his own expectations I think, certainly surpassed ours with his age and everything else. We didn't think he'd struggle, but we didn't think he'd play as many games as what he has done. Credit to him, he deserves the awards this year that he's had and we're looking forward to sitting down and having a chat with him and seeing what he wants to do going forward.

"He's stepped in tonight like he's not missed the last three games so it just goes to show what a class act he is."
