John Mills Scored A Hat-trick Against Weymouth In The Trophy |
The match of the day in the Southern Premier League this weekend takes place at leaders Hereford, frost permitting.
Weymouth (3rd) are the visitors to Edgar Street.
The two teams have already met twice this season, once in the League and once in the FA Trophy.
James Bowen Scored For Hereford At Weymouth |
In the League fixture on September 23rd at Weymouth, Hereford won 2-0 with goals from John Mills and James Bowen.
John Mills Gets Around The Weymouth Keeper To Score His Third Of The Tie |
In the Trophy tie on October 28th, Hereford won 4-1. In this game the Hereford scorers were John Mills with a hat-trick and Lance Smith.
However despite two wins for Hereford in the two games, Weymouth have a very good away record and will fancy their chances to take at least a point from the game. They have won ten of their seventeen away game and drawn three of the others.
Weymouth haven't had a game in the week whilst Hereford won a difficult game against St Neots 1-0 on Tuesday evening.
Speaking after Tuesday's game Peter Beadle felt that his side hadn't put a 90 minute performance.
"I
keep saying to the boys, we've had 45 minutes tonight, 45 minutes
against Biggleswade and Bishop's Stortford," said the Hereford FC manager.
"It would be nice to get that
from the start and have that tempo."
As regards Weymouth, Beadle was mindful that Hereford had already won two games against them this season.
"We've got a big game on Saturday and they [Weymouth] will come here hoping to get one over on us."
Beadle may choose to go with the same starting eleven as on Tuesday evening. However it's thought leading striker John Mills (knee injury) will feature at some stage in the game but Lance Smith (groin strain) is expected to miss out.
Meanwhile Weymouth assistant manager Paul Maitland feels his side will give Hereford a game tomorrow.
"We have lost two games since November so we are proving hard to beat," Maitland told the Dorest Echo.
"It is a game where we will just go and do the very best we can and hope it is good enough to get something out of the game.
Hereford will need to contain Weymouth striker Brandon Goodship. He heads the goals scored table. Currently he has 27, two ahead of John Mills.
Goodship scored one of Weymouth's three goals against Royston last Saturday. During the game the Crows had two players red carded. One of the cards was given out after Weymouth's Harry Baker suffered a deep cut to his head and had to be stretchered off to hospital.
Baker should be fit for tomorrow.
