News Round Up

Bromsgrove Sporting have been charged by the FA after smoke bombs were let off during their FA Vase fourth round tie against Wisbech Town. An article in the Non-League Paper says the Midland Football League side are likely to be fined for the incident.

42-year old Bishop's Stortford striker Jamie Cureton netted his 300th goal in senior football on Saturday. Cureton scored in the Blues' 4-3 home win against St Ives, but manager Kevin Watson admitted his side were below par first half. Hereford welcome Bishop's Stortford to Edgar Street tomorrow [Tuesday] evening.

Northern Premier League Cleethorpes Town have been deducted 12 points for fielding an ineligible player. After goalkeeper Richard Walton rejoined the club from Lincoln City, the registration wasn't completed properly. The club say they are 'devastated' but are determined to 'make up lost ground'.

Merthyr Town's fundraising walk up Pen-Y-Fan was a success, with the total amount collected due to be announced later this week. They're raising money to help the cash-strapped club, who had to slash their playing budget when an unpaid tax bill came to light.

Iain McInnes, chairman of Gosport Borough, will reimburse the fans who travelled to watch their side lose 5-0 to Banbury United on Saturday. McInnes will also reimburse £10 towards travel expenses, and once again admission to next weekend's home game against Merthyr has been reduced.
