Historian Ron Parrott has been looking at Hereford’s run-in for the
remainder of the season and firmly believes that the title is in the
hands of Bulls’ supporters. There are ten home games and eight away
games still to play but some interesting facts emerge when you examine
those fixtures.
Taking the away games first, it would appear that Peter Beadle and his players have done the hard work already because not one of those games is against a team currently in the top ten and includes games against teams lying in 19th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th places.
The home games on the other hand, indicate that there’s a lot more work to be done yet because six of those nine fixtures are against teams currently in the top ten!
This is where Ron believes that fans can help; “supporters need to turn out in force, we need to intimidate visiting teams by raising the volume within Edgar Street and lifting it to a new crescendo! Above all, the players must raise their games to new heights and what better way to help them do that than by letting them know that we’re all 100% behind them? We need gates of 3,000 to do this so please tell all your friends and family to come to Edgar Street over the next couple of months and they will see history being made! All we have to do is see off Kings Lynn, Weymouth, Kettering Town, Chesham United and Royston Town.......... bring it on!”
Next up for Hereford is a home game against Bishop's Stortford tomorrow evening. Tickets are available online and also from the club shop between 10am and 4pm today and tomorrow.
