Herefordshire Means Business works closely with local businesses organising networking events, training courses and offering all the services a business needs to run successfully.
Last Saturday they sponsored the match against Banbury, and a report of their experience was published on their website earlier this week.
Here it is in full:
As part of our partnership with Hereford FC we were offered to be part of the Edgar street Experience and to be match sponsors for the Hereford FC V Banbury United match!!
The Herefordshire Mean Business team arrived at Edgar Street on a cold Saturday afternoon and were met by Hereford’s Commercial Manager Martin Brain. We were taken to the RE Resources Hereford suite where 3 tables were beautifully laid out ready for us and our specially invited guests including ITV Central News presenter Matt Teale.
It was not long before the room was full of a buzz of over 130 guests enjoying the hospitality on offer! There were free programmes and bottles of wine on the tables, as well as a prize draw to win Weston’s Cider and a chance to guess Beadle’s team selection for the afternoons match.
Before our meal Martin Brain showed us a promotional video of all the amazing things the club had achieved and what we were hoping to achieve this season.
One of the HMBiz team is Gluten and Dairy free, but this was not a problem. Hereford FC tailored to the diet requirements and provided us with a stunning roast beef dinner with all the trimmings!
After the meal, Martin gave a talk about all the different businesses and parties that were in the room including the family of Shaun Skinner the Hereford FC Chaplin who sadly passed away last year.
We were very honoured to also hear from Ex Hereford United, Crystal Palace and Welsh International Defender, Gareth Davies who gave a talk on the tactics he thought Peter Beadle may use in the forthcoming match.
At 2.45pm made our way to Block D in the main stand to watch the game with our 30 guests. The stadium was full of the sound of singing and of course the Hereford FC drum!
At half time we made our way back into the Hereford Suite where there were drinks waiting for us on our tables. Just time for a quick chat and it was back out onto the terraces!
The game ended 3-0 to Hereford with 2 spectacular goals and a penalty conversion from Jamie Bird, John Mills and Keyon Reffell. We chose Keyon Reffell to be the Herefordshire Means Business Man of the Match!!
As Match Sponsors, we were taken on to the pitch at the end of the game to receive a signed shirt and have a picture with the Man of the Match we had chosen; Keyon Reffell.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day and our guests, some of whom had never been to Edgar Street, had a fantastic time.
The Edgar Street Experience hospitality provided by Martin and the staff at Hereford FC was perfect and we are already looking forward to next time!
