Recently appointed Hereford FC general manager James Watts believes children are the future for the club and has heaped praise on the 'Junior Bulls product' at Edgar Street.
"I believe that children are the future of the club. It's crucial to have mascots, it's crucial to have kids going in and out of the club shop, it's crucial to have kids around Hereford wearing the Hereford FC brand not Man Utd, not Liverpool.
"A statistic I've found out is that most children select their football club before the age of six so that's the driver I'm saying to everyone.
"The Junior Bulls product here is brilliant, it's absolutely outstanding.
"Over the course of the season that is where we generate a new band of supporters, the numbers are growing, so the Junior Bulls is something I want to get involved in and I want to make the family feel of the club the main focus at this moment in time. That is something to take the club to the next level."
Does Watts see a potential problem with some of the language on matchdays and having lots of young children in the stadium?
"That's where signage will come in, there will be signage about bad language. You have to be strategic about where you sit families because you don't want them listening to bad language. You don't want families going away saying they've had a negative experience.
"But from what I've seen so far this is a very family orienated club which shows that there can't be many problems and so we've got to deliver on that and develop it."
