Banbury United and Kettering Town both suffered their first defeats of the new Evo-Stik League South Premier season on Saturday.
Frome Town went into a two-goal lead through a 5th minute goal from George Miller followed by a Darren Jefferies effort on 26 minutes at Banbury.
United got back into the game with a goal from Tom Bradbury on 37 minutes.
However, just 4 minutes into the second half and Frome had restored their two-goal lead through Jon Davies.
Then on 72 minutes a 35-yard strike from Davies from wide on the left flew into the far top corner of the Banbury net to make it 4-1.
In the 88th minute Jefferson Louis headed home from the edge of the six-yard box and in the 90th minute Leam Howards scored to reduce the deficit to a single goal. But it was too little too late and Frome held on for the three points.
Kettering were beaten 3-1 at the Bob Lucas Stadium by old rivals Weymouth.
A crowd of 684 saw a Callum Buckley own goal give the Poppies a 20th minute lead.
But just 8 minutes later, Ben Thomson pulled the Terras level and 5 minutes after that, Jordan Rose put the hosts ahead.
Seven minutes from the end, Harry Baker confirmed victory with a home third.
King`s Lynn Town are now top and still unbeaten after beating Stratford Town 4-1 at The Walks.
A crowd of 659 saw Michael Gash after 25 minutes, a Michael Clunan penalty on 36 minutes and Leon Mettam right on the whistle give the Linnets a 3-0 interval lead.
Ben Stephens reduced the deficit from the spot on 68 minutes, but a second for Mettam 10 minutes later made the points safe for the hosts and a fifth win in six games.
The only other side yet to taste defeat in 2017/18 are Merthyr Town, although they have drawn four of their six matches, including Saturday`s goalless encounter at Penydarren Park against win-less Bishop`s Stortford.
The relegated Blues join Dunstable Town and another side who came down from the Vanarama National League South, Gosport Borough, as the only teams yet to record a victory
