Peter Beadle With His Players After The 4-1 Win At Royston |
"I talked to the club about an overnight stop but the club said no we won't do that, Martin nearly fell off the wall then!" said Beadle.
"We've got to get used to it.
"We've had three away games now and they've all been three hour trips. Didn't do ourselves any justice on the first day of the season, but St Neots and again today we've come away from home and done great, the lads are in good shape, and it's important we maintain that.
"We've had Kempston watched today.(They lost 2-1 at Hartley Wintney FC)
"We got to take every game as they come, more importantly thinking about Tuesday now. But we know Saturday will be a long trip.
"Hopefully we can rest and recover through the week after Tuesday to be ready for Saturday."
Next up for Hereford are Stratford who are 13th in the table.
"There are no easy games.
"I call it the mini-premier league. You look at the premiership and no games are easy and we're in the Southern Prem and no games are easy in this either.
"Sometimes we can make them easier for ourselves by the way we play but there's no walkovers. If we don't apply ourselves properly and go about it in the right manner we'll come unstuck as we have done.
"It's important we keep doing what we've done today. If we can maintain that and keep improving as we go along then we'll be okay."
The second half was probably Hereford's best 45 minutes so far this season.
"The performance as a whole was great. Royston have throw something different at us than what we have faced so far this season. They changed their shape a bit from the game of champions. They've tried to do different things and we've coped with it.
"We came in at 1-1 and second half we totally dominated the game. Like I just said to the players it's time to impose our game on them as opposed to us coping with what they had.
"Today they couldn't really cope with us, certainly going forward, but we need everybody to do their jobs. The back four were rock solid today.
"It was a really good team performance for the ninety minutes."
Mike McGrath took several knocks.
"One to his head and a nasty cut to his knee which was bleeding so the referee wanted him to get it sorted.
"But that's Macca, he's rolls his socks up and gets up and gets on with it. It's the nitty, gritty stuff which is what we like about him. (He's already clocked up three yellow cards this season).
"He's another one that's still not fully fit. When fit he'll start adding the odd goal to his performances."
