Tomorrow, Hereford travel to Kings Langley in the opening game of the season. Kings Langley claim to be the highest-placed village team in the football pyramid, but last season the Kings nearly lost that title.
They finished 20th in the Southern League Premier Division with what would have been an average attendance of 130 had it not been for the winner-takes-all last game against Cirencester.
Paul Hobbs’ side managed to drum up the local support and attract 645 to see the 1-0 win against the Gloucestershire team which meant the Kings survived by the skin of their teeth on a dramatic final day.
The Bulls go into the game in good spirits after the 1-0 cup win over Stourbridge, with newly appointed skipper Jimmy Oates scoring the winner last Saturday.
Following last Saturday’s performance, Peter Beadle is looking for the same tempo, shape and determination showed by the Bulls for the Kings Langley test.
Beadle will be without a number of players tomorrow, as Rob Purdie is injured and Ryan Green is suspended. Mike McGrath is also carrying a knock, and despite resuming training this week, it's unlikely that Jamie Molyneux will feature for a few weeks.
