Preview: Hereford vs Stourbridge

Ben Chilman with this preview:

The final pre-season game of the summer sees the Bulls host Stourbridge in the Herefordshire FA Senior Invitational Cup at Edgar Street tomorrow.

Northern Premier League outfit Stourbridge are managed by Gary Hackett who's been at the helm for 15 consecutive seasons. He's had many notable FA cup runs with a spell of reaching the Second Round Proper three times in five years.

The Invitational Cup has been around since the early 1950s, Hereford often playing an invited side, usually from outside the county, to contest the cup.

Last year saw Merthyr Town come to Edgar Street to face the Bulls in an eventful 2-1 win for the visitors. Keyon Reffell, who has since joined Hereford, netted a goal for the Martyrs.

The match is played in a normal pre-season friendly format but if the scores are level at 90 minutes there will be a penalty shootout to decide the winner of the cup. There will be the trophy and medal presentation straight after the game.

Kick-off is at 3:00pm with gates opening at 1:30om. Admission for adults is £9, concessions £8 and under 18s are £1.
