One Week To Go

Next Saturday, August 12th, sees the start of Hereford FC's third season, this one in the Southern League Premier Division.

After two back to back promotions, supporters will be hoping that Peter Beadle can, once again, work his magic and by the end of April will have taken the club into the National League South, formerly known as the Conference South.

However, despite being the bookies favourite, this will be a difficult task as the Bulls will come up against clubs with similar budgets and aspirations whereas in the last two seasons Hereford's budget has been one of the largest, if not the largest, in their League.

Beadle has kept faith with the majority of players from last season bringing in, to date, just six fresh faces. They are Jack Deaman, Garyn Preen, Keyon Raffell, Lance Smith, James Bowen and onloan keeper Ethan Ross. And one of those James Bowen was at Edgar Street for part of Hereford's first season.

So Hereford should be in a better position at the start of the campaign with a relatively settled squad, something which Beadle didn't have to the same degree at this time last season.

The first game is away at Kings Langley, a club who finished last season in 20th position avoiding relegation on goal difference.

However Langley are no strangers to getting promotions as they are the only the fourth English club, and the first since 2013, to have achieved three or more promotions in successive seasons, a record Hereford would love to equal or even exceed.

Hopefully in nine months time the Bulls will also be in the record books.
