North Continues Rich Vein of Form in Vase

Northumberland-based Morpeth Town were last year's winners

South Shields beat Cleethorpes Town 4-0 in this afternoon's FA Vase Final at Wembley, being the eighth Northern side in nine years to win the vase.

In the FA Trophy Final, which Hereford crashed out of in October, York City beat Macclesfield Town 3-2 in a close-fought game.

The combined attendance for the games was 38,224, compared to last year's 46,781.

Tomorrow, May 22, marks one year since Hereford's appearance at the National Stadium. More on that tomorrow.
