Tiverton Manager Hopes To Close Gap On Hereford

Last Saturday Tiverton Town defeated Evesham 4- 1 and are now in second place behind Hereford in the Southern League South and West.

And manager Martyn Rogers is hopeful his side can close the gap given Hereford have some difficult games coming up.

"The way we're going at the moment, I said to the boys that they need to be keeping their heads down," Rogers told the Exeter Express and Echo..

"If you winning, you tend to pull away from clubs – that's what Hereford have done.

"Hereford have obviously got opportunities to drop points and still be in a comfortable position so that's the sort of thing where we want to be putting ourselves in a position where you can afford sometimes to drop a couple of points here and there.

"If we keep playing like we did on Saturday, then I don't think we'll have any problems.

"Hereford dropped a couple of points in midweek and they've got some tough games coming up, so I'd like to think we can get a little bit closer before we have to play them again in the league.

"Give them credit, though, as they've kept churning out results and making things difficult."
