Chip And Contactless Cards At Merton Meadow Car Park

Herefordshire Council are installing more ways to pay for car parking. Hopefully this will help supporters parking at Merton Meadow and other car parks close to Edgar Street

This from Herefordshire Council

Installation of credit and debit card readers with contactless payment has started at Herefordshire Council car parks in Hereford. Most of the city car parks pay and display machines will be equipped with the readers over the coming days, customers are advised to look out for the signs. There will be no additional fee or minimum spend for members of the public paying by card and a receipt will be issued by the machine if required. For those drivers that prefer to pay via Ringo or with cash these options will still be available and remain unchanged.

This addition will make parking simpler in Hereford and ensure that our car parks are easy to use and accessible giving drivers different options to pay for their parking which include payment by phone, coins and now card, season discs are also available for most council car parks. Drivers will no longer need to find the change for the parking machines, this will also mean that customers can save money by paying the exact amount required. For those drivers that prefer to pay with cash this option will still be available and remain unchanged.

Herefordshire Council is pleased to be one of the first local authorities to be able to provide contactless payments at its pay and display machines using this new technology.
