Non-League Day - September 3rd

This season's Non-League Day is September 3rd and one of the targets  is to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

This from the Southern League

For the first time since NLD was launched back in 2010, fan-funding platform Tifosy is running a campaign to raise thousands for the men’s health charity which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary and nearly £40 million raised.

Launched last Saturday (August 6) and running for four weeks until Friday 2 September, the eve of NLD 2016 on Saturday 3 September, the Tifosy campaign has set a target of raising £10,000 after the EVO-STIK League Southern teamed up with the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Ryman League and National League to back a nationwide Non-League effort.

To help make it easy to get the fundraising message out to fans and minimise the effort for the EVO-STIK League Southern's 68 clubs, Tifosy are providing participating clubs with exclusive content for their social media feeds on Twitter and Facebook and the pages of their official websites, including text, tweets, images and videos.

The campaign - backed by former England star Les Ferdinand and Chelsea legend and Tifosy ambassador Gianluca Vialli – is also incentivising fans to get their friends and families involved with signed merchandise, official Non-League Day clothing and even the chance to play at the FA’s national football centre at St George’s Park, up for grabs to reward the top fundraisers.

Tifosy’s co-founder James Pollock said: “The campaign has got off to a great start in the lead up to Non-League Day, raising more than £500 in just the first few days and lots of clubs committing to support.

“We want to make this the best Non-League Day yet helping out a great cause in the process. After the season got underway in the Southern League last weekend we’re hoping lots more clubs and their fans will spread the message and get their Non League Day rewards on Tifosy.com while helping to raise a lot of money for Prostate Cancer UK.”

Prostate Cancer UK are delighted with the new backing they are getting this season to help fight a disease which affects one in eight men in the UK, making it the second most common cancer in men.

The charity's Mike Summers said: “Non-League clubs really are at the heart of their communities. By working with them we’re able to get the message out there that Prostate Cancer is something that should not be ignored.”
