Attwell has refereed Hereford United several times over the years.
He made his Football League debut at Edgar Street in August 2007 and a year later was fast-tracked to the Premiership at just 25 years old.
However in 2012 Attwell, who had been a Premiership referee for the previous four years, was dropped after what was described as a 'string of high-profile errors'.
