"A very difficult tie," said Hale.
"I don't think there is any real benefit first or secong leg being home or away.
"And as the manager said it's the semi-final of a national competition so you are always going to have a difficult tie. Just need to get on with it.
"It's very evident that the city, the county, the local community have really rallied this season as a whole, in particular for this game because they all know what the prize is if we can get through the tie.
"Just being around the ground this morning you can feel the excitement, the anticipation, the apprehension, it's something that I myself as a supporter probably haven't felt for a long, long time. It's great to have that back."
As regards tomorrow's game Hale thinks it will be a tight affair.
"It will be the team that settles the quickest and can play to the occasion and just settle and play the football.
"Both sides have got experienced players, I'm sure it will be a tight affair but hopefully we'll come out on top."
