News Round-Up

The ongoing pitch problems at Bardon Hill saw Tuesday's game with Boldmere called off just five minutes before the scheduled start time after passing an earlier pitch inspection. Their game on Saturday against Sporting Khalsa has now been switched to Khalsa's ground, with two more fixtures will now be played at nearby Coalville Town instead.

A woman has entered a guilty plea at the start of her trial for the theft of £15,000 from Dover Athletic. The former financial assistant at the club was arrested in January after discovery of missing sums, and has been told to expect a custodial sentence. The case has been adjourned for a pre-sentencing report to be compiled.

Truro City are to build half a new 250 seat stand at their new Treyew Road ground. They will put in the foundations and brickwork in now, but wait for the week before the March 31st ground grading deadline to install the roof and seats. The move is to save nearly half the £60,000 cost if the club are no longer in the play-off hunt, with the ground scheduled for demolition in the summer.

Morecambe are up for sale. The League Two side currently have the lowest average home attendance in the Football League at 1,474 but owns its own stadium and is 'relatively debt free' according to chairman Peter McGuigan. The club also have plans to build an office block and hotel on land around the ground.

Kidderminster say their playing budget in the summer was just £260,000, with £100,000 of it spent on just two players. A series of departures from the club have seen the budget cut to £230,000. In a lengthy club statement, they add that they have spent around £150,000 this season on pay-offs to staff and players.
