There will be a bucket collection for Birmingham Children's Hospital at Edgar Street this afternoon.
This is taking place in advance of Jamie Griffiths who is running in the London Marathon next month in support of the cause.
Jamie will be running the London Marathon in April to raise funds for the Cleft Team, Ward 9 and the Parent Accommodation service at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where his youngest son, Arthur, was treated after being born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, a facial birth defect that 1 in 700 children are born with every year in the UK.
Arthur underwent two major operations before his 1st birthday to repair his cleft, and he will remain under the care of Birmingham Children’s Hospital until he is an adult.
Please give generously if you can, bucket collectors will be located outside the main stand before the game. Alternatively you can donate online, or by texting ‘BCHA67’ and the £ amount you wish to donate to 70070.
Every year, over 257,000 sick children from across the UK are treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Many face incredibly difficult circumstances. Their stories of courage, determination and hope are truly amazing.
The medical and nursing teams at BCH provide the best possible treatment and the very highest standards of care, but they want to do so much more for the children who rely on them.
The hospital cannot do this without your help. By supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital you will be making a real difference to the lives of thousands of children and families, when they need it most.
