Guest contributer Frank Williams doesn't think Monday's game between Alvechurch and Hereford will be the title decider.
Lets look at both teams’ run-in.
Alvechurch:
Hereford, Heanor, Highgate, and Khalsa twice means that five of their remaining ten league fixtures are against teams currently in the top six.
Hereford:
Alvechurch, Heanor, Shepshed and Khalsa are the sides from the top six that have to be played in the remaining twelve fixtures.
Heanor and Khalsa stand out in both lists but other fixtures should not be ignored either.
Hereford face fixtures against all of the current bottom seven sides. Alvechurch have only four of those sides to face. So Hereford’s two games in hand are against the weaker opposition in the league.
Of course, it depends who holds their nerve the best, both teams will drop points between now and the end of April, and one or both will drop points next Monday, but it’s certainly not a title decider, it’s far too early for that. Heanor and Khalsa hold the key to this league. Although I feel that neither of them can win the league, they will have a big say on who does.
