The future is bright

Last Saturday morning Hereford in action visited Belmont Abbey to watch Hereford under 12's and 13's. The under 12's were playing West Brom's Gloucester side and the 13's were playing South Gloucestershire football developement side.

The under 12's game kicked off before the 13's and despite them loosing 5-1, it was far from one sided with Hereford having some dominate spells and chances. It was also noted that couple of the players were actually playing a year above their ages. Hereford's goal was scored by Keiron Davies.

The under 13's match was a tight affair with both sides having chances to win the game but the game ended 3-3. Hereford took the lead in the first period through a Harrison Summers goal but then conceeded 2 goals in the third period. Hereford equalised as Harry Ratcliffe put the ball into the net but only a few minutes later they conceeded a third. Then in the last few minutes Harry Ratcliffe cooly slotted home to level the match.

On Monday we also attended the friendly match between Hereford under 15's and Merthyr. Hereford won the match 2-1. Another good performance from Hereford, who were very dominate throughout and could of maybe won the game by more.

We have mainly followed the under 18's this season but having seen 3 of the younger ages play, I believe the future certainly looks brights for Hereford. UITC coaches have and continue to do a great job with the future stars. The soccer schools this half term are still on going and by the end of week over 100 children will have attended. 

The under 18 side are in action tomorrow night (Thursday) away at Malvern Town, kick off is 7:45pm then on Saturday the youth side fixtures are:

Under 12's are at home to Gloucester City 10am
Under 14s are away to Bristol Inner City
Under 15s are away to West Brom Gloucester
Under 16s are away to Yate
