News Round-Up

Stuart Fleetwood finally netted his first goal for new club Sutton United on Tuesday night. The penalty was his first strike in 31 games since joining the National South club in the summer. The former Bull admitted his barren run had become a running joke in training, having had a goal disallowed last month.

Norther Premier League side Ilkeston have axed eight of their first team squad in a bid to make themselves 'more attractive to investors'. The club will concentrate on bringing through youth players while operating on a lower budget. Sporting Khalsa have signed defender John Hill from AFC Wulfrunians. Hill played 30 times for Wulfrunians this season so far.

Coventry Sphinx have signed Barwell striker Jamie Towers on dual registration. Towers has scored 25 times in 66 games for the Step 4 side over the past two years. They have also signed four players on loan from Solihull Moors, with defenders Sam Delaney and Keenah Rosser), and forwards Trey Brathwaite & Keiron Nesbitt joining.

Torquay have put on hold an agreement to work with the club's fledgling Supporters Trust towards community ownership in order to 'explore other opportunities for investment' into the club. A statement says the move is because the Trust is yet to reach sufficient levels of membership or fundraising. They will revisit the matter in the summer.
