News Round-Up

Northamptonshire Council say that a deal has been struck with prospective Northampton Town owner Kelvin Thomas to settle the £10.25million loan to the club. The deal sees the Council take over the land and development to recover the money, subject to the club meeting unspecified conditions, while also taking over the rights of the club to seek compensation from the companies that had been involved in the deal.

Telford's vote on a change of their ownership structure has been postponed after a large number of members said they had not received the documentation on the proposal. Walsall Wood forward Joey Butlin has changed his mind over a move to Barwell. The 22 year old was announced as a new signing by Barwell three days ago.

Woking are reported to be the subject of a takeover bid after reporting losses of £437,000 for last season. Ashley Read says he is preparing a bid for the 75% shareholding of chairman Peter Jordan, believing Jordan is no longer prepared to fund losses and with the rest of the current board not in a position to cover the debts either. The Cards have reported six figure losses for several years.
