Long Eaton Lose Manager

Long Eaton United have lost the services of manager Charlie Palmer, the club have announced tonight.

The former Notts County man, 52, has joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier side Belper Town as their new boss. A club statement reads:

"We would like to place on record our thanks to Charlie for his efforts whilst at Long Eaton United and wish him well for the future. We are delighted to advise that Shaun Rickford has agreed to take interim responsibility for the team. We will be making a further announcement regarding our long term plans in due course”

Palmer had been in charge for two seasons, taking them from a mid-table Northern Counties East side to third place last term in the Midland Football League.

Rickford is a current Long Eaton player having played seven times this season so far.
