Alvechurch Manager Wary Of Hereford

Ian Long, manager of Alvechurch FC, has repeated his view that Hereford FC could stand in the way of his club gaining promotion this season.

Alvechurch were surprisingly defeated 2-1 by Loughborough University last Saturday and then held to a 2-2 draw last Tuesday by Boldmere.

“I’m still reasonably happy to be where we are after a dozen games but we can’t take anything for granted,” Long told the Redditch Standard.

“The teams at the top are very competitive and you can see that from the results of the likes of Hereford. They’re the team I fear the most but we’ve still got games in hand.

“Our advantage has slipped after the last week so we need to get back to winning ways.”

Alvechurch should return to winning ways on Saturday when they are at home to Continental Star, whom Hereford defeated 6-0 last Tuesday.
