HUST have issued an update about their accounts.
2015 Draft Accounts / Lockett & Co.
At the AGM in September 2014, the figures produced by the previous Treasurer were his own figures prior to audit. He worked for Lockett & Co, Chartered Certified Accountants but then departed for pastures new. They do not undertake audits for Mutual Societies so I was recommended to Hawkins Priday Ltd. They audited the May 2014 figures and have recently completed those to the 31st May 2015. I wish to clarify that Lockett & Co have not at any time been the auditors for HUST.
The Accounts to the 31st May 2015 have been delayed due to a mixture of holidays at Hawkins Priday and also getting invoices and receipts from the previous Treasurer relating to the early months of the financial year period. The Accounts were marked “draft” by the auditors as they wanted sign off by the HUST Board before finalising and lodging them with Companies House. Unfortunately they were not ready in time for the August HUST Board Meeting and as I was away for the September meeting then this business will be concluded at the October meeting. We have until the 31st December 2015 to complete this exercise.
