Northampton Town have been given three weeks to repay a £10.25million loan to the local Council in full after missing repayments.
The Northampton Chronicle reports that the club have missed payments with a Council statement noting: “The last two repayments have been missed and the club has not given the borough council confidence in their ability to pay these and later repayments."
The loan was made to facilitate the development of the Cobblers' Sixfields home, a development that stalled last year leaving the ground's East Stand part-build.
The club chairman David Cardoza has been trying to complete a deal with an Indian consortium for the club, and says the club will meet the deadline for payment.
