This from Hereford FC:
Club statement 4th August 2015
On Saturday Hereford FC play their first competitive fixture when we entertain Dunkirk, in the Midland Football League. The game will signify an historic moment, being the first league game of the re-born club.
Many, many people have made this dream become reality and the Board of Directors are hugely grateful to every one of you. It really has been an incredible team effort involving a large number of supporters.
It now seems an opportune moment to introduce the founding shareholders who committed to the early financial requirements of setting up Hereford FC. They are Mark Blandford, Mark Ellis, Mike Roberts and Nigel Edmondson who are all successful businessmen and are also long standing Hereford United supporters who came forward in the early stages of our planning of Hereford FC. They each committed to purchase £50,000 of shares, to help financially underpin Hereford FC. Those share purchases have now been completed.
In the first instance this gave Herefordshire Council the confidence that Hereford FC would be financially secure, and not a financial risk to them or others and thus enabled a 5 year lease on Edgar Street to be negotiated. Importantly, the founding shareholders financial input has allowed us to make significant capital spend on the ground without which we would not have achieved a safety certificate. The total spend to date is in excess of £120,000.
All four founding shareholders have bought their shares on the strict understanding, and agreement, that there will be no return on their shares as set out in the Articles of Association. All profits of the football club will be re-invested back into the club. The football club is not responsible for the redevelopment of any part of the stadium. If the landlord (Herefordshire Council) decided to re-develop one of the stands, the intention is that the club would have a say in its design. The Directors of Hereford FC believe that share purchases have been made for the good of Hereford FC and its future and not for personal gain in any way.
It is now for the Board of Directors to run Hereford FC. We are committed to ensuring that the club is run in a sustainable, prudent manner whilst giving the manager the fullest support, to build a competitive, promotion chasing team. We want Hereford FC to be protected for generations to come and have a future we can all be proud of.
We can all be a part of that future by embracing the club, and by encouraging others to join the huge ground swell of support that has gathered behind the club already.
Thank you all for your dedicated support. See you on Saturday.
Jon Hale, Chairman
